RENOVATION:
POOL

This pool had been neglected and required a lot of hard work to get the finished result the client was looking to achieve. With concrete cancer, chipped and worn pebblecrete and tired and sparse landscaping, a total overhaul was required.

The inside of the pool was stripped back, the concrete issues addressed and the pool repainted with the colour carefully chosen to achieve a beautiful, light aquamarine water colour. The waterline tiles were in good condition and were kept and the grouting cleaned. The pool coping was revived by using a product developed by the CSIRO called Megatreat, and this meant the pebblecrete did not have to be removed, saving on additional labour costs.

The sandstone paving running around one side of the pool had sunk overtime and was lifted and repositioned. A pergola and deck were added to one end of the pool area to provide much needed entertaining space. Prior to the landscaping, the fence was painted in a dark, charcoal grey colour, making the fence recede and the new landscaping stand out.

Using clever solutions and reusing materials kept costs down. This pool and surrounding area is a highlight of the home for this family. The colours work harmoniously, with grey downpipes, pool coping, fence colour and water line tiles all working together.
