INTERIOR STYLING:
FOYER
The entry area of this home lacked appeal. The client wanted to make it less dark and cold looking and it had to make a statement, but not be overwhelming. It had to link to the style in the rest of the home and provide useable spaces, for keeping keys and other small household items.
The client already had this table but it wasn't being used as the red-brown wood stain didn't work with the new brown-grey flooring. It was painted Dulux Natural White to work in with other elements of the home. The client has lived and travelled extensively in Asia and items brought back from their travels were included. The mirror was chosen so that the louvres could be closed if required and the frame had grey paint rubbed over it, making it stand out from the wall, but still connect with the table.
This is now a warm and welcoming area that serves a purpose for this family and they always know where their keys are.
